- 2.00 Can crushed tomatoes
- 1.00 Teaspoon kosher salt
- 0.50 Teaspoon sugar
- 0.25 Teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 0.25 Cup basil
Instructions:
- Warm olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Add garlic and cook for 30 to 45 seconds, until fragrant but not browned.
- Add tomatoes, salt, sugar if needed, and red pepper flakes if using.
- Simmer uncovered for 20 to 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Crush any large tomato pieces with a spoon.

Notes:
